Amman gained an MA in Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia. He lives in Salford.
In 2005 Amman was selected as one of the Royal Court / BBC '50' and was also awarded an Arts Council Bursary to support his artistic work, as Artist in Residence with Tamasha Theatre Company. In 2011 he was part of the Royal Court invitation writing group and wrote his play LA VALLEE BLANCHE and wrote PUNJABI BOY as part of the Critical Mass invitation writers’ group there the previous year. A short play titled POUNDSHOP WARS, commissioned by the BBC, was performed at the Live Theatre as part of ‘Newcastle Live’ at the end of a two day workshop in March this year.
Amman is currently part of BBC North’s Writersroom 10 and is developing PUNJABI BOY as a television series.
